ClearSight Prototype Part
ImageRochester Hills, Mich. (March 20, 2008) – Auburn Engineering, Inc., leading provider of rapid prototyping and production services, announces introduction of the ClearSight™ prototype production process to simplify design, reduce manufacturing costs and streamline production.

With Auburn’s ClearSight proprietary process, prototype parts are made from an advanced Urethane material offering unparallel durability and dimensional stability.

See-through models give manufacturing companies a cost effective means of confirming
upfront engineering and virtual test analysis before making the significant financial investment typical production manufacturing processes require.

”Our manufacturing customers face daunting challenges in terms of quality mandates, design changes, and escalating production costs,” notes Peter A. Evans, Auburn Engineering Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “The ClearSight solution streamlines physical product testing, letting manufacturers avoid costly refinements, delays in delivery, and quality issues.”

Once performance is tested and confirmed using the ClearSight process, manufacturers can produce multiple copies from tooling, which also works to lower costs.

Auburn Teams with Dynetics in Successful Design, Prototype and Production Process PDF Print E-mail

Rochester Hills, Mich. (January 30, 2008) – Auburn Engineering, Inc., leading provider of rapid prototyping and production services, recently teamed with parent company Dynetics (Huntsville, Alabama) to provide Moving Technology Forward, Inc. with an effective prototype design, prototype build, and production process. Auburn helped simplify design, reduce costs of producing injection molds, and production molding of the Erase-O-Matic -- an innovative magnetic media eraser that helps protect privacy and prevent identity theft by destroying obsolete data.  With Auburn’s help, the Erase-O-Matic is now available and affordable for commercial, individual and family use.

Auburn Engineering and Dynetics worked with the inventor to take the innovation from an idea to a producible prototype and actual production piece   The team worked together to not only design for functionality, but also minimize the number of parts, reduce complexity, insure quality, reliability, ease of production, styling, and assembly.

Notes Reid Scott, president, Auburn Engineering: “Our team offered true value in this application in that the component is manufactured to meet a key price point since prototype, tooling and production costs were minimized. We’re pleased to be part of the development of this innovative and useful product.”
